New Sewing Classes for September and October
Be sure to check out the schedule for September and October classes. In Home Decor class, you'll learn to make a fabulous, one of a kind table runner with matching placemats. In Level 2, I'll teach you how to make a fleece vest for everyone in your family, or an adorable child's jumper in a super popular style that you'll make over and over again. Think about getting an early start on Thanksgiving and Christmas this year. Learn to sew these projects now, and make great decor for you home and amazing, unique gifts for your friends and family. I'm also teaching a cool tote bag class for the teens (and those that once were teens), and a fall apron class. There's something for everyone!
As always, I'm teaching beginning sewing for adults, teens, and children (ages 8 and up). Learn how to use your sewing machine, make a pillow case, and do enough basic sewing so that you'll be ready to move right on to patterns and a host of other projects after just two and a half hours! No kidding!
If you're in the Clear Lake area, including Webster, Friendswood, League City, Dickinson, Nassau Bay, Kemah, Seabrook, Santa Fe, Pasadena, and beyond, be sure to check out the schedule and come take a class. It's fun. Get your friends together and have a girls night out or a mom's day out.

September is National Sewing Month
Check out the Joann's schedule for a complete list of all the September and October sewing classes I'm teaching. The link is on the upper right corner of this page. One of the classes is to learn how to make a fabulous fall table runner with matching place mats. Check these out. I don't mean to brag, but I am in LOVE with these. I can't wait to put them on my table.

How to Pronounce Boeuf Bourguignon
I've had several inquiries about the correct pronunciation of Boeuf Bourguignon. I'll try my best to tell you, phonetically (and without a French accent), how to say it. (While you're here, won't you please take a moment to check out my Etsy store? Thank you!)
Boeuf is pronounced boof. It rhymes with poof.
Next, bourguignon. Start with bow (like bow and arrow), then guin (like Guinness beer, or New Guinea. It's a hard G follwed by "in"), then yawn. Put it all together: bow-guin-yawn.
Boof Bow-guin-yawn.
I hope this helps, but, if you're still not comfortable with your pronunciation, just call it by it's English name: Burgundy Beef.
Edit: I never would have imagined this would be the most frequently viewed entry on my blog. Every so often I get an extremely rude comment quibbling about the pronunciation of boeuf. There's not an exact English translation I know of to identically duplicate the French pronunciation of boeuf. Listen to the two pronunciations in this link and you'll see how minor a difference there is. Boof is about as close as you're going to get in English (American).

Unavailable for a few days
I returned from New Orleans, feeling a little lousy yesterday morning, to feeling full blown flu symptoms by the time I got home last night. I'll be in a bed for a couple of days but I'll be back as soon as I'm feeling better.
