Window Seat Cushion

When Keitha asked me to help her make a window seat cushion after just one introductory sewing class with me, I thought the project might be a bit ambitious, but we proceeded anyway. Then when I realized how long the cushion was (over 100 inches), I had to admire her fearlessness in wanting to tackle something that many experienced stitchers wouldn't dream of trying. The end result was pure perfection.

Take a look for yourself.
This striped fabric is beautiful (and also unforgiving.)

Look how huge it is!

The pretty brown cording, a big challenge for a new sewer, goes great with the fabric and adds a completely professional look to the project.

Doesn't it look great?

Don't be afraid to try new projects. I can teach you how to sew so many things. If Keitha could make this in her second class with me, so can you. Customize your home, improve your skills, and save a fortune by learning how to do it yourself.

I'm in love with my wristlet!

I sew so many things and love them all but, my new wristlet and accessories are my absolute favorites right now. First off, I'm loving the quilted fabrics. (I admit it. Vera Bradley inspired me.) But looking good is just the start. Functionality is the clincher. I can carry my cell phone, iPod, sunglasses (in my fab matching case), credit cards, cash, license, business cards, car keys and still have room to spare. But best of all, my hands remain free. Think of a fanny pack but with style and without the utter embarrassment.

I even made a matching case for my sunglasses, as you can see above. Then I decided it would be nice to have something small to carry cash, credit cards, and my license so I made this little purse that totally doesn't match, but I don't care. It reminds me of fall and Thanksgiving and I love it.

And a note to my friend, Nari: Remember we were in that club and we were saying there has to be a stylish alternative to a fanny pack? I've been thinking about that ever since and this is the answer. Hand free, stylish, but you can carry everything you need and you don't have to lug a big purse on to the dance floor with you.

What do you all think?

Give Something Original

I've started getting orders for Christmas gifts and encourage everyone to start thinking about placing your orders now. Give something unique, personal, and original this year.

Don't forget, I can put just about anything on a wine glass for you. For the beer drinkers, I also have pilsner glasses. Order either one, custom painted, and even personalized. Prices begin at just $17.95. You can also get sets of four Christmas glasses for $39.95.

When was the last time you had a Christmas apron? They're fun and nostalgic and they make great gifts. They're also great hostess gifts.

And best of all, they're customizable like everything I make. What about an apron with a special photo printed right onto it?

Email or call me and let me help you come up with something that is perfect for everyone on your list. Then sit back and relax and leave the work to me. I'll even gift wrap your items for you.

(Speaking of gift wrap, don't use the same old tired paper wine gift bags this year. Let me make you a reusable fabric bag.)
