Logan's Mater Backpack
I just mailed this to my friend, Mary, yesterday for her son, Logan. Check out the trim on the pocket. I went to buy the fabric that would go well with Mater's and "Cars" colors and I found this trim while I was shopping. What luck!
I decided to add this to my Etsy store. Thanks to my friends with younger kids, especially boys, I've learned that they seem to love "Cars."

There's no place like home, there's no place like home...
I had a request for a small black wristlet with ruby slippers embroidered on it and this is what I came up. I'm very proud to say that I drew and digitized the ruby slippers image all by myself. Unfortunately, the photos don't capture the glitter of the metallic red and silver threads I used.
Here is the picture I drew and pen-painted of the ruby slippers.
If you've never digitized an image, look closely at the picture. See how many different shade of red are in there? Same with the black and the gold. And when you zoom and zoom and zoom on that pic, you realize there are hundreds of colors. In digitizing, you have to reduce that to the fewest possible number of colors. It can be quite a task, but the outcome is that you take an image in .gif, .jpg, or .png format and you manipulate it enough-- blending the colors so that all reds are just one red, for instance-- and then you convert them and then you embroider them. It's not quite as simple as people think it is when they simply state they want something converted to an embroidery file. But the end result is very rewarding when you stitch it out and see your drawing take a new shape.

Toddler Drawstring Backpacks
Yes, I'm obsessed with my new sewing machine. But look! It even does cool Disney/Pixar designs. Check out these cute backpacks I made for my great nephews. I made them a bit smaller than I'd normally make these so they're just right for little ones.
Aren't they cute? And finally something for boys, too. I have that same fabric in red and white. I'm thinking something with Minnie would be cute on that.
Look at all these cool designs I can do. (Click to go right to the images if you're not into the slideshow.)
They all came preloaded on my machine, plus I can buy lots more because Brother has a licensing agreement with Disney.
Is that fun or what?
If you order one, and the name is more than 4 letters, your letters will be smaller than these. The full name will be 4 inches wide no matter how long the name. So, the more letters in the name, the smaller each letter can be. It looks great regardless, but just wanted to be sure you knew. :) Oh, and you can get the image number from the slideshow above or from the individual pictures here.
