Goddess Giveaway

Here's what was in the box I received yesterday-- a fabulous "Nourish Your Inner Goddess Spa Pack."

I got it for free from Yoplait through BlogSpark and they're giving one identical package away to one of my readers, too! Is this a great giveaway or what? You get this fabulous "Nourish Your Inner Goddess Spa Pack" which includes this plush towel wrap, the spa slippers, the bath supplies, and coupons for FREE containers of Yoplait's Greek yogurt.

As my family can attest, I adore baths. So this spa pack was right up my alley. I also love yogurt and getting things for free! So this was quite a treat for me to be able to try the Yoplait Greek yogurt for free. It comes in Blueberry, Strawberry, Honey Vanilla, and Plain. I tried the Honey Vanilla. It's soooo creamy and thick and delicious and the flavor is wonderful. The addition of the honey to the vanilla yogurt is amazing. How can they make something that good with 0% fat in it??

So, I'm super excited that one of my readers is going to have the same joy of finding that box full of goodies like I had this week. I'm keeping this very simple. All you have to do is leave a comment below and tell me which flavor of the Yoplait Greek yogurt you'd like to try. (If you comment as "anonymous" just be sure to sign your comment and, if I don't already know it, include your email addres so I can find you if you win.)

Now.... if you would like to have additional entries, here's what you can do. (Again, please make sure I know who you are and that I can get in touch with you via email if you win.)

  1. Follow me on Facebook. (If you already follow, leave another comment below, telling me you already follow)
  2. Follow my blog publicly (and leave another comment below, telling me you're following my blog now.)
  3. Check out my Etsy store and leave a comment here, telling me what your favorite item is.
A winner will be drawn from all of the comments posted by 6 PM Central Time, Friday, June 4. (US residents only.) Good luck everyone!

(PS-- Coupon offer for a free cup of Yoplait Greek yogurt is not valid in some states, including California, Idaho, Louisiana, Minnesota, Nevada, New Jersey, North Dakota, and Tennessee. But that doesn't mean you can't use the rest of the gift pack.)

Sales I'm Liking Right Now

I've been waiting for some of these items to go on sale-- because that's the only time I buy them. So here are some of my favorite sales this weekend.

At Jo-Ann, these sales are good Friday (today) through Monday:

Lots of great 50% off sales. This is when I stock up:
  • Foam by the yard
  • Outdoor Canvas
  • Notions
  • Buttons
  • Home Decor Fabric (54")
Simplicity Patterns 5/$5  I love that sale. I shop patterns on Simplicity's web site  and write down which pattern numbers I want to buy. It makes it quick and easy when I get to the store. There's a limit of 10 patterns to a customer at this price.

Hancock Fabrics also has some sales that are looking good for the Memorial Day weekend. This sale also goes through Monday. It's a great weekend for patterns! Just like the Simplicity patterns, I shop online first which is often easier looking in the big books at the store. Sometimes it's crowded, especially during sales, and you can't even get near the books.

They also have some great 50% off sales:
  • All scissors
  • Coats and Clark Thread
  • Ribbon by the spool
  • Wrights Packaged Tapes and Braids (I'm definitely going to be looking at these!)

Monday only, they also have 50% off on these:
  • All thread
  • Buttons
  • Quilting and Sewing Notions

If you want more info on other sales they're having, check out their individual sales flyers:

Hancock

And don't forget Hobby Lobby! Check out their current sales flyer too.

Who Doesn't Love a Package?

I admit it. I'm in love with the Fed Ex guy. The UPS guy too. When I see their trucks pull up outside my house, my heart skips a beat. They always come bearing gifts and goodies. My kinda guys. I love opening my front door and seeing this.

Wait until you see what's in this box! Ready? Take a look.

Do you see what it is? Well....

You'll have to tune in tomorrow to find out. :) But I'll make it worth your while by posting a giveaway. One lucky winner is going to be getting this exact same box delivered to their door! You're going to love it. I promise.

Now on Sale

If there is one thing that I just can not bring myself to do, it's paying full price for something. I either shop what's on sale or I buy with a coupon. When I find myself in the awful position of needing something that's not on sale, and I don't have a coupon (and let me tell you, this rarely happens), I buy the absolute minimum it will take to get me through until there's a sale or coupon. Since I'm constantly looking at ads for fabric and craft items, I thought I'd start sharing some of the great sales I find with you.

These sales end tomorrow at Hancock Fabrics:
50% off Outdoor Fabrics-- now that is a great buy! Outdoor fabric is pretty pricey, otherwise.
40% off licensed fleece prints, licensed cotton prints, and licensed flannel-- I love stocking up on the cotton prints when they're on sale
$1.99 McCall's patterns-- if you buy patterns, you know how expensive they are. This is a steal.

Blog Milestone!

I'm tweaking a few things on this page. When I looked at the "preview" to make sure everything was working, I noticed my counter is at 10,0002 hits. WOW! I didn't even realize I was getting close to 10,000. What an exciting honor.

Thanks to all who have stopped by in the past 14 months and to all who read regularly.

Love is in the air

From garters, to bridal hankies, to monogrammed towels, to painted glassware, I have been having a great time making memories for new brides and I couldn't be more excited. I shipped these garters to a Michigan State bride yesterday.
Posted by Picasa

She provided an inspiration garter along with her color preferences.

To my delight, they got raves from the bride: "They look great Maureen!!! I couldn't be happier :o) GREAT JOB!!" Since I stress over every single thing I make, wanting it to be perfect, that just made my day.

Here's a bridal hanky I did, after digitizing a band logo and making it "embroiderable" (is that a word? It is now.)

And then there are the towels. So, am I the last to learn that many couples have a custom monogram created for them? Here's one that I digitized and also made embroiderable. :)

I like the "Est. 2010" included in the newlyweds' monogram. Here are two versions.

I've been so busy making things for customers that I haven't started making things for the weddings I'm invited to in the next couple of months. Oh, and the graduations! My gosh, so many graduates this year. Hooray for all of them!

Are any of you as busy with weddings and graduations as I am this year?

Classes at JoAnn for May and June

These are the samples for two of the classes I'm currently teaching. See the link to Jo-Ann's Clear Lake Area class schedule on the right for class times. This is the tote bag which is an adult sewing class, and the drawstring backpack which is a kids sewing class. (Adults are welcome to sign up for kids or teens classes, too.)

Pillow Talk

Sometimes I make something that I just fall in love with myself. And so it goes with these pillows which I just listed in my Etsy shop. I guess I was in the mood for Asian-inspired fabrics.

This one has three looks. It's a solid red pillow with a reversible sleeve.

Which one do you like best?

Hello Kitty (ish) wrist pads and a towel

Today I'm mailing some wrist pads I made for someone, after many detailed discussions so I could get them just right. She wanted wrist pads of specific dimensions, furry fabric, and Hello Kitty bows in the upper right corner. (Isn't that such a cute idea?) So here they are-- and don't worry about the white; they're machine washable and the bows are removable!

Today, I am also mailing Paulette's towel. She was the lucky winner of Gisela's giveaway. If the towel looks familiar, it is! It's just like Gisela's.

I'm off to the post office! Have a great weekend, everyone.
