Light Fixture Makeover

I replaced my dining room light fixture a couple of years ago, but was never thrilled about the glass shades that came with it.

I had some shades I'd bought for my previous fixture that I always liked but they were too small for this one. Then inspiration struck. Remember the beaded trim on these curtains?
I tried to find the same thing but it was not to be found, so I found something else that I liked, got out my glue gun and got to work. I just put a line of glue all the way around the bottom of the shades and glued the beaded trim to it.
Voila! A whole new look for my dining room that I love.

This style goes much better with the decor and was so easy and inexpensive to do. Give it a try!

Pillsbury Mini Biscuits Review and Giveaway

For as long as I can remember, one my girls' favorite breakfasts was always right-from-the-oven Pillsbury Grand biscuits. My mouth waters thinking about the way the butter melts right away when you open that nice, fluffy hot biscuit, and then you drizzle on some honey and it's about as good as it gets. As the girls got older and getting the whole family to eat at the same time became more difficult, we'd always have leftover biscuits if I made them for just one of us.

When I got to check out the new frozen Pillsbury Grand Mini Biscuits, (compliments of Pillsbury through MyBlogSpark)one of the first things that grabbed my attention was that I could bake as many or as few as I wanted. Perfect! Not that making biscuits from the tubes of dough is difficult, but this is even easier. You just take what you want from the bag and bake them. I can even bake them in my toaster oven. They're an excellent solution for individuals, couples, or small families who might not be able to use a whole tube of the traditional biscuits.

My favorite way to enjoy them for breakfast is still with butter and honey. Yum. I also like to make mini open-faced chicken salad sandwiches on them. It's nice to put out a tray of little sandwiches at a party, too. As much as I love the chicken salad, though, my all time favorite sandwich on a Pillsbury Grand is turkey (cut from the bird, not deli turkey) with my homemade whole cranberry sauce, mayo, a bit of salt and some pepper. Mmmmmm. Makes me get excited about Thanksgiving being just around the corner!

Here's what the folks at Pillsbury have to say about them:
Bring the mouthwatering aroma of fresh-baked biscuits to your kitchen!
